My favorite ideas are the unexpected ones. The ones that surprise people, reshape a product, break formats, invent tools, or turn a normal brief into something no one saw coming. If it feels familiar, it’s going to feel boring. I’m a writer and art director (and a few other things), so I’ll sketch, write, design, storyboard, or build whatever the idea needs. But really, concepting is my playground. And whether I have a day or a month, teams can always rely on me to come back with something fresh.
The best ideas solve real problems. Like the project UnSafety Check, that we created for the Black Lives Matter movement to help people mark themselves “unsafe” during incidents of discrimination.
My background runs across the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Spain, and multicultural spaces. This experience has made me adaptable, culturally aware, and comfortable collaborating with people from everywhere.
The things I like outside of advertising… comic books, surreal art, collaborating with artists from around the world, reading magical realism and existential literature, philosophy, and diving into strange research rabbit holes… it all feeds my creativity.
